In addition to collaborating on the score for THE MYSTERIES, Ed was Music Director and guitarist for its showcase performance. He was Music Director for Ann’s musicals INTO THE HEART OF THE SANGOMA and WHEN THE RAINS COME, and guitarist in her one woman show THE SKIN YOU SHED and CDs Into the Heart of the Sangoma and In Love with the Mystery (the soon-to-be released final recording sessions with Paul Horn).

Ed performs solo guitar concerts and has appeared with many of Canada’s leading performers, including his brother ‘s band, Chilliwack, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO), Tangissimo, Paul Horn, Eric Bibb and Leon Bibb. He was assistant conductor for Showboat at the Vancouver Ford Centre Theatre.

Reviewers have lauded his “dazzling display of low-key acoustic virtuosity” and “marvelously lyrical” work.

Ed has released three original albums (Intimate, guitar wall and Winter Child), and often works as a session musician. Other CD productions include Feet First, the Jeff Hyslop stage show, Endless for Silk Road (Juno-nominated, West Coast Music Awards winner), El Camino Real for Ancient Cultures (Best World Album at the Junos), Milagros de Navidad and A World Christmas for the Vancouver chamber Choir and many other projects.

His choral works are widely recorded, presented and published. He has created commissioned works for the Vancouver Chamber Choir, musica intima, Elektra Women’s Choir, The Dance Centre, Canadian Music Centre, the Vancouver InterCultural Orchestra and many others.

TV productions include A World ChristmasTell It on the Mountain, Chasing the Tango HighRace of the Century, and 20+ documentary scores for CBC, CTV, Bravo, Knowledge Network and Vision TV.

He has been a nominee for and recipient of numerous awards, including Junos (Ancient Cultures and El Camino Real), Jessie Richardson and Dora Mavor Moore Awards in theatre, and Leo and Cannes Awards for TV.

One memorable project was writing orchestrations for VSO recordings of 11 national anthems for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games.

Ed serves on the boards of SOCAN, the SOCAN Foundation, the Vancouver Musician’s Association and the Screen Composers Guild of Canada. He is an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre, and a member of the Canadian League of Composers.
